Feedback for my photos

28 01 2010

I just wandered through some of my published pictures and noticed that they haven’t gotten that much attention.
BUT to improve my photographic skills I have to get some critic, so it would be cool if you could just tell me what you think of this selection of pictures, and if you want to see more, just head over to my deviantart account and check the gallery.

The natural pictures were taken at my parents home in franconia, the other ones in munich.

Also feel free to comment the pics in deviantart and share this post:)

It was brought to my attention that I should blog about the reupload of my old Winampskin “Hal’s eye v1.2″ over at Deviantart. Finally did this, as the downloadlink was broken VERY long.

As just posting this would be a bit boring, I’ll tell you some facts about it.
I have no idea when I started creating this skin, but it was a very long process. I had no idea about MAKI-scripting those days and there were also no documentations, so I had to teach it myself by trying to understand existing scripts and asking stuff in the winampforums.
After some months I thought this would never be finished, but then the GUIOlympics 2004 were announced. That was why I finally pushed the stop-button in development after putting even more effort in it to finish it in-time.
One of their rules for participating was, that the skin mustn’t be published anywhere else.
I was doubting if my beta-releases counted as full-releases but I gave it a try. First it was very well-rated from the audience, but then it really became disqualified because of the development-version on the winamp-forums and the beta-version on deviantart.
In the beginning it was called Cal’s eye, as I haven’t seen the movie that often and thought it was right that way. The final release was named Hal’s eye then, and a nice side-effect is that you can easyly separatew the beta version from the final release.
It’s still got some flaws, like a buggy playlist-scrolling for example, but though it was developped for Winamp3, it’s still working nice with Winamp5 and’s got some features many other skins still don’t have. An example for this would be skinned tooltips.
At this time, it has been downloaded over 1,200,000 times. Not that bad:D
